AU BACKGROUND: Like many people, Shego started out life as a perfectly ordinary young girl. This all changed when she was playing with her brothers in their treehouse and they were struck by a rainbow comet, which triggered the manifestation of all of their mutant powers (rainbow themed, of course). Together they formed Team Go, and protected their small midwestern city from disaster and villainy alike. That is, until Shego left. Her older brother says she was seduced by evil. Shego says she got sick of her brothers. Either way, she went looking for work in a slightly different field: villainy.
Shego worked for quite a few villains - Dr. Octopus, Mr. Sinister, even a short stint as Dr. Doom’s henchperson, though that didn’t last long. She freelanced some, but quickly decided it wasn’t quite her thing. Almost a year after she left Team Go, a certain mad scientist hired her to do some security work. She was with the good Doctor for a few years (on and off, in and out of prison), but after a certain teen hero arch nemesis got her in a tight spot, Shego faced a choice: face prison in the Negative Zone, or cut her losses and claim sanctuary in Genosha. It’s not hard to guess which one she picked.
She quickly rose up through the ranks of the Acolytes, enjoying the power working for Magneto gave her. She’s settled in a comfortable place now, high up enough to order most of the other Acolytes around, but just low enough to pretty much deny any responsibility for any scandalous government behavior.
PERSONALITY: Shego is sarcastic, mean, and generally kind of awful and unpleasant. She’s incredibly impatient, easy to piss off, hard to please, and quick to mock. Really, mocking is one of her favorite pastimes. She’ll make fun of anyone: her bosses and employers, her enemies, people she actually likes, people who annoy her. Most of her friendships are based on snark and/or mutual hatred of people or things. Shego isn’t especially loyal to people who aren’t signing her paychecks, but she probably wouldn’t let a friend die. Probably. She has an extremely low tolerance for bullshit.
APPEARANCE: Pale green skin, long black hair, green eyes, curvy.
POWERS: Shego can generate green “plasma blasts” from her hands, which are mostly concussive, but can also melt things or set them on fire. She also has enhanced strength and durability. Not enough strength to lift a car, but enough to throw a person.
